"Fasting should not be used as a weight loss method but rather as a detoxification/cleansing method. It is also a great way to re-set your thinking around eating. By cleaning up your body you can create more awareness around what you eat. I compare this to going to the dentist to get your teeth cleaned. Few of us would rush out to have a sugary, chewy caramel right after we have just had our teeth polished. As with a fast, the cleansing has created awareness for at least a few hours – perhaps the rest of the day. Conducting a fast or a cleanse works the same way in our body."
